COMPANY HISTORY
Robert Pochin Ltd has a long history of trading and serving communities, across the East Midlands. Founded in 1861 by Ironmonger Robert Pochin Senior, the business was developed by Robert and his four sons. Throughout the second half of the 19th century and first half of the 20th century the shop at 32 Granby Street, Leicester became famous for selling a dynamic and innovative range of quality hardware and household products.
The development of exciting new markets, particularly domestic cooking ranges and heating equipment, led to dramatic expansion and the company selling direct to builders, plumbers, and heating engineers whilst continuing to serve the consumer. As a result Robert Pochin is proud to be one of the very few independent AGA distributors to have maintained its status from appointment in the early 1930’s.
The present Managing Director is Mr David Pochin, the sixth generation to lead the business forward. Today Robert Pochin Ltd has 3 dedicated AGA showrooms at St Georges Way in Leicester, Long Row in Oakham and Riverside in Market Harborough. Each showroom displays an inspirational range of AGA Rayburn cookers and we are committed to supplying the right appliance that will meet the individual lifestyle requirements of our clients

A one-to-one demonstration will enable you to have some dedicated time cooking alongside us, on one of our live appliances. NEWS & EVENTS
Robert Pochin Ltd runs a busy program of Cookery Demonstrations throughout the year. These popular events are hosted by Penny Webb a registered freelance demonstrator for AGA Rayburn.
In March 2010 we had the privilege to host two demonstrations on behalf of the Lord Mayor of Leicester’s charity appeal. All proceeds were donated to the Leicester Children’s Holiday Centre in Mablethorpe. This wonderful charity provides summer holidays to disadvantaged children (aged 7-11) in Leicester and Leicestershire. Over the summer months 60 children each week attend a seaside holiday.
