Re-enamelling
An Aga has its major external surfaces
coated with vitreous enamel (effectively a coloured
glass), which gives an extremely durable and easy to keep
clean finish.
Inevitably
over many years, small accidental chips may occur and
these can be easily repaired by the use of a special
touch-up paint, available from your Aga Distributor.
Ordinary gloss or car paints are not suitable, being non
heat-resisting and unable to adhere to the iron surface.
If larger
areas have become damaged, or if the enamel has become
scratched, or even if you wish to make a colour change,
your Aga Distributor may be able to offer advice.
In some
cases, it may be better to renew the components if they
are still available, but please seek advice from your
Distributor.
Aga side
panels are powder-coated (painted), not enamelled, and
cannot be satisfactorily re-coated on site. If damaged or
badly scratched they should be replaced.
