This section General questions Other Sections Specific by fuel type Installation and site requirements		Fuel Consumption An Aga is a heavily insulated, heat storage cooker, designed to provide all the heat required for cooking operations, whilst consuming the minimum of fuel. It is therefore possible to predict the typical, weekly fuel consumption for each model, based on average use. Model type shown in brackets. Metric to Imperial Conversions are approximate. Energy off-setting aspects Owning an Aga does have many other positive benefits. A very important saving comes from the reduced need for supplementary heating in the kitchen, possibly avoiding the use of one or two radiators. Also, most Aga owners find that they have little or no requirement for the use of additional cooking appliances such as Electric Kettles, Toasters, Microwave, Bread-maker or Conventional Oven and Hob etc. There is also a reduced need to operate a Tumble Drier or Electric Clothes-airer. Taking a practical account of these benefits could potentially amount to energy savings of between 120-185 kW per week, which can, of course, offset the running cost of an Aga.
